Turbidity is the reduction of water clarity caused by suspended or colloidal matter or impurities. High turbidity (low clarity) in water is caused by suspended matter such as clay, silt, organic matter, and microscopic organisms that interfere with the passage of light through the water. Turbidity is not identical to color, but the  scattered light is affected by many variables including color, wavelength, and particle size and shape. The suspended particles will not settle out by gravity. Turbidity is closely related to total suspended solids.

The HI 93703 is easy to calibrate (with 3 point calibration) using AMCO-EPA standards and is ISO 7027 compliant.

The HI 93703-11 enhanced version features a real-time clock and internal logging for up to 199 measurements.

Collected data can be downloaded to your management system using the Windows® compatible HI 92000 software.

Both versions meet the requirements of GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) protocols for last calibration data storage.
